By: Restoration Healthcare

Next time you’re at our office, you may notice a new face (the one on the right in today’s photo). New to the team here at Restoration Healthcare is physician assistant Blossom Aguirre, MS, PA-C — a healthcare professional who has a Master of Science and is a Certified Physician Assistant.

Blossom graduated from Western University of Health Sciences (Pomona, Calif.) in 2012 with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. She initially pursued neuropsychology and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from La Sierra University (Riverside, Calif.).

Blossom’s duties include evaluating patients, prescribing medications, ordering labs, interpreting lab result, ordering and setting up IV protocols and modifying IV protocols as patients respond to them. In addition, she will provide directions and hands-on assistance to our team of paramedics (they’re the ones who prepare our patients for their IV therapies).

We asked Blossom — a healthy living advocate if there ever was one — to sit down with us and offer up a little information about herself. Here’s what she had to say:

Restoration Healthcare: What did you do prior to coming to work for Restoration Healthcare?

Blossom Aguirre: My training is in Primary Care. I initially started my career in a Family Practice/Urgent Care setting. I have also worked in Bariatrics. For the last year I have been practicing Functional Medicine and IV Nutritional Therapy.

RH: What attracted you to Restoration Healthcare?

Blossom: I believe patients receive not only comprehensive, but most importantly, quality care at Restoration Healthcare. Another aspect that I love about this group is the continuity of care that patients receive. Restoration Healthcare values compassion and commitment and that is essential to a thriving medical practice.

RH: When you’re not working, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Blossom: I spend time with my husband Jonathan and our ’12-year-old’ — a Terrier/Schnauzer named Oreo. We love hanging out at the beach, watching anything Marvel, and trying new restaurants.

RH: What reality TV show should you be on and why would you win or be the first person kicked off?

Blossom: I don’t know if I should be on any reality TV show. But I know if I was on “Naked and Afraid,” I would 100 percent be unable to survive.

RH: What’s one thing not many people know about you?

Blossom: I can’t swim!

RH: When it comes to your work, what are you most passionate about?

Blossom: Though it may sound cliché, I am most passionate about learning. I believe the practice of medicine is a lifelong commitment to higher education. It is through that commitment that we as providers can deliver comprehensive and focused clinical care to a diverse range of patients with a broad spectrum of needs.

RH: If you could take two weeks off from work starting tomorrow and travel to any destination on the planet, where would you go what would do and/or see?

Blossom: My husband and I have been watching a lot of travel shows on television recently. One place we both would like to go to soon is the Philippines. Once there, we would go to all the beautiful beaches and eat all the delicious food!
